I had gone to the Black Swan for a different reason. The band setting up was the not the band I had came to see last Friday. After some persuading by the proprietor of the bar, I was convinced to stay and listen to the new band. In all fairness, this band has only been together for two months and naturally they were a little rough and stiff; however, they loosened up as the evening progressed and they “nailed down” an excellent version of Eric Clapton’s “White Room.” This song alone was enough to make me want to see this band again.

During the break, I asked the band if they had given themselves a name. They all went and huddled by the stage. When they returned, they said, “The Sakorn Band.” They also said, “We are a Rock and Roll Blues band.”

So, there you have it, “A new band has been born.”

The Sakorn Band consists of vocalists Konstantin Papadouis and Sataphorn Chai on lead guitars. The rest of the band is backed-up by Jeab on bass and Oichai on drums.

The Black Swan is located on Sukhumvit Road under the Asoke BTS station. Its entrance is hidden behind the steps leading up to the BTS station. It is also on the same side of the street as the Sea Food Palace.
