Bangkok Band Billy The Mountain Tops Net Chart

Happy ValleyDrifting to Valhalla, the new album from Bangkok-based Billy The Mountain which has enjoyed a ‘phenomenal’ reception on the Internet since its release April 1, has now gone past the 35,000 listen mark on one web site and is tracking quickly towards 40,000, London-based band manager Tom Gray told BangkokJungle reporters.

“Four of the tracks have now gone gold since April and that’s a phenomenal thumbs up from the listening public for the band’s music. On one site alone - www.noisehead.com - we’ve had 35-36,000 listeners across the whole album…and now four songs have gone gold with ‘Here Come The Sisters’ and ‘One’ following ‘Mem Will Dance’ and ‘Love’ which went ‘GOLD’ more than a month ago - it’s the Internet equivalent of having four Number One singles on one album!” Gray said.

“Meanwhile, to get the album to a bigger audience, from June 11 we went live on iTUNES stores around the world and on other important Net retail outlets including Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, GroupieTunes, Amazon MP3, Lala and Shockhound. That means the band and its music is now represented on nearly 30 retail sites worldwide now!”

“Sales should go up a gear now we hope, as most of what we earn goes to the band’s own special charity,” Gray said.
