The “Chinatown - Yaowaraj Clean Food, Good Taste” food festival and “Yaowaraj Highlights” will be held on September 23-24, 2005 along Yaowaraj street, the oldest and largest ethnic Chinese community in Bangkok.
Yaowaraj is one of the best tourist destinations in Bangkok, famous for delicious Chinese cuisine, its own characteristic Thai-Chinese cultural heritage, and famous goldsmith shop venues. In addition, the area is a busy commercial street full of shop-houses and stores offering a wide range of products varying from souvenirs, toys, clothes to snacks and foods. There are many events and festivals being held throughout the year.
The “Chinatown - Yaowaraj Clean Food, Good Taste” food festival and “Yaowaraj Highlights” is held to attract both local and international visitors to the area. Highlights of the event include a traditional lion and dragon dance at the Opening Ceremony, a culinary and gourmet competition, and a variety of stalls offering Yaowaraj famous dishes. Hand-crafted Yaowaraj gold jewellery is being showcased in addition to many more attractions.
