CLAPTON, WINWOOD DO 3-NIGHTS IN NYC
Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood opened their joint three-night stand at New York City’s Madison Square Garden Monday night (February 25th) with a blend of hits and lesser-known tracks by Blind Faith, Cream, Traffic, Derek and the Dominoes, blues greats, and their respective solo careers.
Clapton played a range of guitars and Winwood played guitar, grand piano, and a Hammond B-3 organ, in front of a five-piece band. They traded off some lead vocals, including on some songs normally just sung by Clapton. The duo are backed by bassist Willie Weeks, drummer Ian Thomas and keyboardist Chris Stainton, who played at the Crossroads Festival.
Winwood’s new album, Nine Lives, will arrive on April 29th. The nine-track set marks Winwood’s first studio release since 2003’s About Time. Winwood’s former Blind Faith bandmate, Eric Clapton, plays guitar on the first single, “Dirty City,” which is out now on iTunes and SteveWinwood.com. A video for the set can also be viewed on Winwood’s web site. The new album will come out on Columbia Records. His previous disc arrived on Winwood’s own Wincraft Label.
Winwood and Clapton reunited last July at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago and Winwood will open for the upcoming Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tour, which kicks off May 30th in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Some great artists know how to attract their audience’s attention and how to make it feel the joy. But when two great artists share the stage like Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood the effects would be ultimately greater. Like those concerts are highly attended. So, it becomes so hard to book a seat and tickets become pricy. I discovered a website that gives the chance to compare ticket prices for free and in this way I can look for the cheapest prices:
