Doctor Blues has honor of opening new Bangkok blues venue
Mekong Doctor Blues and his Groove Brethren have been invited to play Tuesdays at the new Tokyo Joe’s Blues Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 26, and this Tuesday is the first blues gig at the brand new pub and restaurant.
The Doctor kicks off the new gig Tuesday 22nd at 9:30pm with his weekly blues jam, and tells Bangkok Jungle he is ‘honoured indeed’ to be the first act to christen the gig.
“This is a very cool new venue and will be home to the best in blues for years to come. What an honour to play the first song in what is a purpose-built shrine to the blues,” he told us.
The new bar is just 200 metres up Sukhumvit Soi 26 and opposite the Tara Hotel.
