Elvis is alive in Bangkok

Travelers are drawn to Elvis’s familiar passionate and seductive voice as they enter the Radio City night club. To find an Elvis impersonator here in Patpong, an infamous Bangkok red light district, is bizarre and the weary traveler is surprisingly welcomed to find a safer form of entertainment.
Radio City night club is managed by Kevin Wood. Obviously, he is pleased as his club fills up for the show. The Elvis show, and along with its Tom Jones show, have become a standard tourist attractions on all the travel agent’s brochures and “Travel to Asia” TV shows.
Manuel, a local Thai who has been impersonating Elvis since before the club was renovated in 1996. Kevin can still remember when Manuel was originally performing his Elvis act on the third floor of club. “Don’t fix it when it’s not broken,” Kevin says.
The Elvis and Tom Jones shows at Radio City play every Monday through to Saturday. The Elvis show begins at 11 pm and ends at 11:45 pm. The Tom Jones show begins at 12 pm and ends at 12:45 am.
