Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour now has a Fender guitar named in his honor. According to NME.com, his own signature model Stratocaster guitar, dubbed “Black Strat,” will be available starting September 22nd. The guitar is based on the one Gilmour used to help shape Floyd’s sound. He said, “I told Fender that it was just an ordinary Strat that I bought, but I must say they’ve done a great job of recreating it.” Gilmour’s upcoming concert CD and DVD set, called Live in Gdansk, will arrive September 16th.
