Jazz Guitar Superstar Returns to play Bangkok
Jazz guitarist Dan Phillips and his trio play Bangkok in concert at the Goethe Center, 18/1 Soi Goethe, Sathorn 1, Monday June 25th.
This rising jazz star from Springfield Illinois was once Director of Jazz Studies at the Mahidol University College of Music and a lecturer in jazz guitar at Rangsit University Conservatory of Music and has been a bandleader and composer for more than fifteen years. He has performed throughout North America and Asia developing an original voice and approach to improvised music.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston as a guitar performance major, the budding virtuoso was selected as the guitarist to represent Berklee at the 1990 Montreal Jazz Festival.
Dan has also performed with many international musicians including Gerald Wilson, Layla Hathaway, Danillo Perez, Judy Roberts, Bill Yeager, Jeff Parker, Fancois Lindemann, Matt Darriau and Ed Thigpen.
