FLOYD DO ‘STILL EXIST’: DRUMMER
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason says that the band does still exist, although there are no plans for a reunion. When asked by Mojo magazine whether a reunion could be in the cards, he answered, “I wish I knew.”
Mason, who has recently played live with both Roger Waters and David Gilmour on their separate tours, explained that the prospect of recording new music is out of the question:
“Another record would be unbearable. And there are certainly no plans for doing a big tour. I’ll live in hope that there might be something else we might do at some point. We still exist at this point in time.”
The band recently released a new box set titled ‘Oh By The Way’ which includes all of their studio albums in miniature sleeves recreating the original artwork for the vinyl albums.
The four members of Pink Floyd, Mason, Waters, Gilmour, and Rick Wright, reunited at Live 8 in London on July 2nd, 2005 for a brief set. The band performed for just under 25 minutes and played “Speak to Me/Breathe”/”Breathe (Reprise),” “Money,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Comfortably Numb.”
