Samui Island Blues and World Music Festival (see story) headliner Zakiya Hooker, daughter the of late great bluesman John Lee Hooker will be attending the event. She was recently interviewed by NPR about the album she was working on with her father when he died in 2001. The album, John Lee Hooker, Face to Face, has since been released and you can hear a sampling in the NPR interview. You also can hear some of Zakiya’s singing.
