SEGAR SAYS: Hong Kong Blues Is Buzzing
The world of the blues is a world of cool people who get up and play, come and listen, or open blues venues and buy the CDs - and those who go that extra mile and keep the whole blues vibe alive just being there - or in the case of Taj Segar everywhere!
Our roving correspondent knows who’s who and where and when because he travels the region checking out the blues venues and jamming his way across Asia while squeezing in time for his job too!
We want to honour this great bass player and blues fan and cool guy for his commitment to the blues by giving him his own column - SEGAR SAYS - featuring his bulletins and news from the blues. Welcome onboard Segar!
His first column is about the very current blues scene in Hong Kong.
Enjoy!
Hi! Segar here. As a conduit for blues info I get news from all over the region. Here’s my latest incoming from harp player Henry Chung in Hong Kong sent Tuesday, October 30, 2007 11:20 pm

Why is Bangkok Jungle so blues orientated now….it used to be a great versatile web site for all muscians alike! Not just blues and Tokyo Joes.!!!!
Hong Kong has a limited blues scene, almost non existant…i should know im in Hong Kong and have been for 20yrs. What HK dosent have is incredible rock/pop/funk bands with charisma to keep everyone dancing!
let also not to forget to mention them! Lan Kwai Fong anyone..
