The Doctor calls on Jazzanova
Doctor Blues and the Groove Junkies are playing Monday nights at Jazzanova club. You can find the new club across the street from Emporium on Sukhumvit Soi 24. I have had the extrem pleasure of seeing, hearing, and hanging with the good Doctor and am friends with him and his band-mates. A rare group indeed. Texas Long-Gun Buddy Walker and I have been pals sence we met at a buffalo BBQ and shake down back in the early ’70s. Buddy always played. We went to see the blues whenever we could like the night we saw the 3 Kings in concert in a small club in San Diego, Ca. Yeah…Freddy, B.B., and Albert together on the same stage. Anyway we came to BKK together and started hangin’ out on Suk. When I came back from an extended stay in Bang Sean he told me about this band ‘The Delta Boys”. Kieth Nolen, the Dr, and a few others had going. I likened them to the Paul Butterfield Band at the time. Well they have gone on in different bands and gotten nothing but tighter and now Mr. Walker is a “Grove Junkie” too.
If you like “The Blues” and are in BKK you should not miss the “Grove Junkies”…just laid back, strong, take you along sounds no one can help but enjoy…with this band it’s…Let the good times roll…they do, you should, and I will…
