World Music and World BBQ Festival set for next week

Ted Lewand, one of the featured guitarists of the upcoming festival, jams it up with traditional Thai musician, Somphon Saneewong, at the World Music and World BBQ announcement at Livingstone’s Restaurant (Sukhumvit Soi 33) last Thursday. The music demonstration was given to showcase the type of music the festival will feature. Their music along with other demonstrating artist, Todd Thongdee Lavelle, Tewan, Dermot Maher (Irish) and Claudio Silva (Chili) was called by one attendee as “Cool” to hear all these interesting sounds coming at you.
The actual festival will be held Wednesday, January 18 through to Sunday, January 22 at the RAMA 8 Bridge over the Chao Praya River. The festival will feature various music genres by artist from 15 countries, as well as Bar-BQ foods from 12 different countries. Local Thai artists such as the Soi Dogs, Khun Inn, Tewan Novel Jazz, Subsanyakorn and Bangkok Xylophone will also be performing. The event is being held 5 pm to 12 pm each day and is free to the public. Boon Rawd Brewery Co. Ltd. (Singha Beer) is a major sponsor of the event. For more information, call 02 375 6765.
