“The Young Musician of Thailand Award” competition was announced at the Conrad Hotel yesterday. There is no application charge and is open for all talented resident Thai young musicians, age not over 20 years. The chosen finalists will be invited to perform at a Gala Dinner on 31 March, 2007, at The Conrad Hotel, where the overall winner will be announced. The competition aims at promoting young musical talent in Western Classical Music.

Interested persons must have the following qualifications:

  • not be older than 20 years of age on 31 March, 2007
  • currently living and studying in Thailand
  • each applicant needs to be nominated by an organization such as a school or music society

The overall winner will receive The King’s Award, a trip to London and 5 night stay at the Conrad London for 2 persons and Baht 20,000 cash.

“The Royal Over-Seas League” in UK has been organizing Music Competitions for 54 years which has built up a solid reputation as a launching pad for the careers of outstanding young musicians now at the forefront of the music profession.
