We’ve never been any good at putting two and two together but author/filmmakerJim Newport is back in town, so dare we expect the imminent launch of his new book - not about vampires this time - Chasin’ Jimi - a look over James Marshall Hendrix’s shoulder when he was still Bold as Love and not yet Up From The Skies. We know Jimmy Fame aka Jim Newport is jamming at Tokyo Joe’s on Sukhumvit Soi 26 Tuesday night at 10 with his edi-mentor Dr Blues, so maybe then we will nail the launch date.

Word is Adam Florence, ex-Associates bass player now based in Oz is also back in town briefly and not-so-old friend gifted sax player Nick LaFleur is back out of New York checking his semi-retired booty locker too.
